Atlantic Palms Renovation & Story Addition - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
This mid-rise reinforced concrete structure was originally constructed in 1988. In 2005, Martinez & Associates took on the challenge of improving the existing structural system by reinforcing the driven pier foundation, shearwall and column systems. Extensive testing of the structure was required to determine the feasibility of the addition of two stories and a carefully devised plan to strengthen the building was executed.
Through third-party testing agencies and the design direction of Palmetto Architecture, a vastly improved structure highlights this renovated downtown area of Myrtle Beach.
